I do remember them, our local bus company had a couple for a while, but I didn't get to travel on buses until I started High School back in '70. By then they had gotten rid of most of them and my school bus was an old White semi-trailer bus because of overhanging trees on the route. We got on the bus at the halfway point and still had over 1/2hr ride to school, mostly standing because of crowding. The return was no better, but sometimes we got a seat :).

I was thinking this morning. It’s amazing how many times the wheel has been reinvented, you’ld think we’d have it perfected by now.

...... sounds like a circular argument ....

..... it just goes 'round and 'round ........

So let me see if I got this straight.

The birds kill you. The spiders kill you. The snakes kill you. The roos kill you. The koalas kill you. The platypus kills you. The crocs kill you. The sharks kill you. The Portagee man of war kills you. And the sun kills you.

How about emus? Do emus kill you?

          ......... yes  :)

I have an "OP Shop" story for you :

My mother volunteers at the Op Shop run by her church one day a week.

They get a lot of stuff from older, often Widowed contributors, ..... you know, ... "lets clean out Dads old back shed" kind of stuff.

I went in to pick up Mum after she finished the other day and was a bit early, .... so i thought I'd have a bit of a look around .........

....... amongst the ratty old tools were 3 flat box/cases and inside these were 3 Mitutoyo micrometers, ....

a smallish/standard unit, and two 6" units complete with all the "anvils" (one almost brand new) .......

    Prices as marked .... $3, $10 & $20 .....

The 6" that was $10 was older and it's case was made of plywood that was splintering a little, the other 2 were more modern plastic moulded cases .... and the $20 unit still had some components wrapped in original packaging and un-opened.

I almost set my back pocket on fire getting my wallet out to pay for them .......
