Depending on the reloading mood that strikes me ... I reload 45LC's with 200 - 230 and 255gr bullets. At the distance we shoot at, with BP, the bore doesn't know the difference with the different bullets

Pit Bull, let me get this story correct:
* You have a rifle for an obsolete caliber
* There are no parent cases for this caliber and not in any catalog
* You have no brass
* You have no cases and 99.9% there are none available except lathe turned based on a chamber cast by Rocky Mountain Cartridge. Very expensive if RMC Co will do it. Otherwise, your SOL!
You want custom dies that will drain your wallet based on the chamber cast
Next, bullets. You will have to find a German catalog that MAY give the dimensions & weight of the bullet to properly fit into the leade of the chamber. Then do a CAD drawing of the bullet ... and have a custom mold made for casting if you do cast
No doubt, this caliber is black powder only - Welcome to the Dark Side
I would only do this if the rifle is mint and engraved being of high value as desirable for resale
I went through the explained process for a 9.5x47R round that was invented in the 1880's and lasted for less than 20 years. I did find the only 80 cases in the world that cost $3.89 per case. In my case, it is for a fully engraved high value Schuetzen rifle so the effort was well worth it. Two other collectors in the US have this caliber rifle and they went through the process too but they have no brass to make reloads and shoot theirs. So the parent case for this caliber is 11mm Mauser and they had to make the cases ... but for your caliber there is no known parent case to make the brass

First of all, I detest the primer trays on presses that drop the primers into the cup for seating ...
So, here's a method that's easy and fast ...
* W209 primer trays are the exact size of a plastic credit card, fitting on top of the primers inside the tray ridge. I use an expired AAA card for this and other purposes
* Cover 50 primers with the card - turn the tray upside down with the card holding the primers in the tray
* Set the upside down tray of primers on the bench and slide the plastic card out ... 50 primers are now sitting on the bench with the primer bottom facing up.
Then the routine is Station 1 = deprime while putting primer face down without needing to turn it upside down in the Station 2 cup.
Works for single and progressive stage presses

How many cases do you have for this caliber?

If you have a case for the 11.15x55R, CH4D can make the dies. But unless you have the rifle ( and did a chamber cast & slugged the bore) for that caliber and plan to shoot it frequently ... your wasting your money for custom dies that will be expensive

Take a set of feeler gauges and measure the distance from the back of the cylinders to the inside face of the actions. You will probably determine that all have a greater distance than the Cattleman.
Light loads = primers that back out and are binding against the inside face of the action
Reload some maximum powder reloads - crimp hard and believe your binding of the cylinders will disappear
Short answer - Can the Wimp Loads!

Bull, continue to clean as you are doing then dry the cases in a towel with a hair dryer - hot to touch with your fingers. Put the brass is a sealed can or zip lock bag with several desiccants to remove any moisture in the air. The desiccants are free when you ask your pharmacist to save them for you because they put them in the garbage
I have cans of brass that are a year old in inventory - still looking good!

Grits, the NRA is comprised of several tax entities that are both 501{C) -3 and 4.
Because I like to determine how well the NRA progresses annually with membership revenue as an indicator, I go to the Guide Star website and read the various NRA Form 990's Guide Star keeps 3 years of Form 990's online
Only the SASS SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION INC and SASS MUSEUM AND COWBOY ACTION SHOOTING HALL OF FAME are listed as 501[C) 3's. So believe SASS has not become a 501{C) -3 or 4 yet.

How often do you shoot Non-cas
My extreme non CAS shooting is I drive 7 hrs one way on the average of 3 times a year to the Ridgway Rifle Cub in northern PA. The arsenal I take is usually 10 to 12 non CAS rifles with usually a 1000 reloads of BP & smokeless plus 2 or 3 non CAS handguns with 200 rounds for each. I spend a full week each trip shooting rifles from 44yds to 100yds, 200m to 500m on the silhouettes, 1000 yds on Homer the Buffalo and 700 to 1000yds on the steel silhouettes. I am usually at the different ranges from 9:00AM to 4 or 5:00PM each day. Then in the evening after dinner - shooting at the club's indoor range with the handguns. Otherwise, I am at our club at least once a month

They will corrode over time if not cleaned regularly. Maybe once a month inspection.
Yusta - very good advice. I clean all my metal powder chargers - once I am finished with a session. Exception is the aluminum parts in the Dillon. And the nice thing about the plastic Lee Perfect Powder Measures ... they never have to be cleaned

I can't believe I have ever seen a gun room with reloading presses that looks like it's never used except to sit on the leather couch and read the Cowboy Chronicle keeping my feet warm on a wall to wall carpet with not a spot on it. Not to detract from this 'Better Homes and Garden' picture - you should build a glass front show case to hang your holsters in!

Any new purchase of extruded or lathe turned brass that I buy, especially for Pb bullet reloads ... I take a 22 degree neck reamer and remove the burrs that are always on the lips of the mouth,
Why? For SASS brass not really necessary but for BPCR reloads shooting for accuracy, the burrs will decrease the accuracy of the bullet on ignition
To determine if a case has or doesn't have burrs on the lips, take a fish hook and pull it up from the inside of the case

There are plenty of free Ad Blocker applications that you can download to your computer. They work for me even with Photobucket
