[SNOW!]

Just went outside and found SNOW.  I HATE SNOW!  I left Utah almost 60 years ago to get away from SNOW!

 

I know we need the moisture but why on my yard, on my streets, and in my parking lots and why does it have to so damned COLD?

The one I got is small, only loads up to about 15 sheets of paper in the back, delivers in front, gives me beautiful prints in both B&W and color, and is easy to use....once Amber walked me through it.

 

Instructions are easy if you speak computerese, and has instructions in a dozen languages if you don't speak cowboy English.

 

For me it's perfect, but they also make tank printers for almost any job I can imagine.

I used HP equipment for years but about two years ago they stared putting out junk.  Inferior materials, poor workmanship, slow, unreliable, etc. 

 

I went through two HP inkjet printers in about  a year.  No more.   No More!

I love my Dad's old Model 8 Remington autoloader in .35 caliber.  It has taken mule deer, a black bear, several elk, a cougar, a pronghorn, and any number of coyotes. 150 grain, 170 grain, or 200 grain (when they still made them) Silvertips for most of its life and some custom loads a friend put together.

 

The only calibers that I would use if I didn't have it are a Winchester model 94 rifle .30-30 and a model 95 Browning in .30 U. S. Krag (.30-40).

The lady across the street just left.  She knows about computers and I don't, so she came over and set up my new "tank" printer.  This gizmo is good for up to 6,000 prints on one load of ink, it's faster than my old ink jet POS, and it produces a much better print in about 1/4 the time.

 

It's an Epson ET-2980 and cost less than my HP disaster.

 

Check out tank printers.  There are a lot of companies and models out there, but this suits my needs.

If I ever again get a 1917 S&W revolver that will be good to know.  I sold one, a beautifully cared for pistol, in 1964 to help pay my college tuition.  I've not seen one since that that has measured up for the cost.

 

I have never been much of an S&W guy, but that, a 4" model 19, an American / first model Russian, and a .22 pistol that had the barrel under the operating spring (don't recall the model) were favorites.

 

The 1917 had half moon and full moon clips and I had a box or auto-rim cartridges.  I loved that gun and the Model 19.

Just a side note: Those hollow points are the size of a washtub.  My 1911 wouldn't feed those until I had a smith reshape the ramp just a tiny bit.

As heap as brushes for my electric toothbrush are I keep a half dozen spares around just in case.

 

I also buy cheap tooth brushes for guests, cleaning around the house, and workshop use.  I get them at a dollar store a dozen for $10.00.

Dominos delivered when we lived in SoCal and both worked.  I was a convenience at the end of a long day and the kids wanted supper.  We used it about once a week.

I got Phonak hearing aids from the VA almost 18 years ago.  They call me in every year for servicing and have since upgraded them three or four times.  I went off the VA grid and tried three other brands that are very expensive, have to be "tuned" by a computer, were uncomfortable and sometimes painful and could be seen by a blind man.  

 

Phonaks are almost invisible, very comfortable and a bit less expensive than anything else I've found.

 

They serve my needs so I'll keep them as long as they are available.

I had a Leatherman tool for near on 30 years and almost never used it.  I was so stiff I couldn't get the blades out and time didn't loosen it up a bit.  Gave it to an old man who was playing the nostalgia game.

Thanks, but I think I'll keep it.  It's been on my wall for almost 13 years and I'd feel lonely with it gone.  Look on some of the on-line sites.  I think you could find one for around $150.00, maybe less.
