I've got two 512's, one imported by Charles Daly, and the other an EAA Churchill. Both were made race ready by Run N Iron, I had him get a regular 512 and had him shorten the barrels to 22 inches and he turned the actions, they are slick as heck. Only draw back is you loose the choke tubes, but I've never had an issue with that...

Stay away from HSM 38-55 ammo, bullets specs are too varied for consistent accuracy...

I bought a 1894 Uberti clone in 38-55, accuracy was horrible, had the barrel miked at .380, HSM ammo was all over the place, some were at .370, after I had someone change the bullets to .380 the rifle worked...

I asked for EMF for their Bisley Hammer and I ended up with seven of them on my 1873's.... They knew what I wanted...

I had my gunsmith replace my AWA hammers with Pietta Bisley hammers, they only required minor fitting...

Jim Downing has done at almost twenty guns for me...
