The one you speak of isn't mine as I haven't been making them but two years. Your's is the first I have heard of breaking. In answer to your question yes you should need the heaver hammer spring because the pin will now be heaver. If I can be of any help text me at 801 829 8989 Also I don't know of anyone using the original pin with the new lighter spring (sorry), so you are the test bed on this one. Thanks for the heads up.

Here is a photo of the firing pin. Normally they brake about 1/4 in from tip. I have even found some pins broken in three pieces that still worked a little.
