I expanded and edited my response here. Goatneck Clem was my first shotgun gunsmith that worked a Stoeger for me. Then Jonny Meadows was/is an outstanding SKB gunsmith, I bought an SKB from Dirt Merchant, and then Fast Eddie and Roughneck Rod built a few for me. Then Lefty Wheeler came along and is my current Champion maker of SKB's. I guess, I kinda hedge my bets on each SKB, for at sometime, the SKB will be worn to needing replacement parts ( that may or may not exist). The newest SKB gunsmith for me, and he just built one for me, is Brad Finch up in Amarillo,TX. All of them do and did outstanding work. I have my favorite winning SKB 200E's from all of them. Twill be with me, til my son or grandson gets it . Unless the Tom Mix Museum, in Dewey Oklahoma comes callin.

Hey Two Shoots, Got to clarify how you got those numbers. In the SASS rules, for the power factor of ammunition covenants, (pg26) did you do the following "The muzzle should be raised to at least 80 degrees into the vertical before each shot is fired. " ? Thanks, OkD

I picked up some of this smokeless powder and may be interested in using it in, 38 Special and 12ga shotshells. Thanks for any positive input.

I have the same problem. Looking closely, I could see a slight lip of metal, protruding around the recoil shield firing pin hole. Gently filed it smooth. Helped, but still loves 122gr and up grain lead bullets. They shoot well. 100 to 115gr seem to slow or hangup. The recoil shield may need to be replaced or reset?

I shot at Oakwood Outlaws, near Oakwood, Texas, this weekend. Short drive, hot humid weather. IDEAL! I shot this Saturday and Sunday there, 6 stages both days. Sunday I shot the Pietta's GWII "Gunfighrt competitors" My thoughts, They shot great. For some reason, they get on target easily. No misses, no ruger(Pietta? go rounds) But, they do love 122/125gr bullets best. 105's gr, seem to back out primers every so often. I practiced with them on Saturday and decided to shoot only 122gr or 125gr on Sunday. Still the best price, out of the box - to the range - SASS legal handguns I have ever shot and owned. Now the problem of ..... Ruger's NV's OR Pietta's GWII Gunfighter Competitors....I could see me shooting the Pietta's at the Nationals 2025. Though, I do love my Lassiter Ruger New Vaqueros short stroked classics.....Tis a good problem to have.

Mean Gun Mark, Congratulations to your 2025 Ohio State Frontier Cartridge Championship! Did you shoot these guns in the main match? I hope not. Your findings are dis-heartening. I hope you get a satisfactory result(s) from EMF. I am sure you will. That being said, we knew up front, the heavy trigger pulls that will be evident. Except!!! To have 7 and 8 lb trigger pulls, well, at 68 years old, I would be unhappy as well. I found, doing some basic polishing of parts, that are related to the hammer and trigger area, reduced mine down to below 4 lbs. Please keep us up to date with your findings.

They are not slip-ons. Solid brass, I will assume. As for them shooting 2.25" low... that is outstanding for factory direct. That load, I shot, is legal in SASS power factor. Ruger SA and Colt SAA with un-filed front sights, correct me if wrong, with the same light load, will print about 6 to 8 inches lower. Ruger and Colt use the standard load of a 158gr factory loaded 38 Special / 357 Mag factory load, to set the POI for all the factory output. They do not cater to SASS shooter needs or wants. Pietta, with this setup is.

Hmmm, Cheyanne Culpepper won the EOT 2025 Elder Statesman Gunfighter with them. And Slick McClade won Classic Cowboy with them as well. Yes, they are short stroked and have an unique, only on this model. the EMF-Pietta Great Western II (Gunfighter Competitor) revolvers, which (In My Opinion) are outstanding lowered hammer and the knurling, I have never seen before. Functions quite well.

I do not know, I would imagine they are installed into the barrel. Call EMF and ask for support on this one.
