I was stationed at NAS Point Mugu from 1976-1979. In that short period of time I determined that CA was not a place I ever wanted to live. Only 2 things I could say nice about the place was the weather was decent and if you could get away from the huddled masses, the scenery was beautiful. In 79 I was transferred to Yuma and have lived here ever since. At first we would often visit San Diego, especially in the summer for cooler weather and good seafood. Then we stopped that when they started getting really weird. As soon as I cross into KA, I am a felon by definition and I resent that. I don't believe in asking anyone's permission to buy anything. When I retired from Continental, I let my passport lapse as I didn't want the hassle of renewing it. Since I believe KA to be a foreign country, I don't go there anymore at all. PF

You have to remember the Air Force is a paramilitary organization. They are prima donnas when it comes to amenities. Air Force enlisted would consider the CO's cabin aboard ship to be substandard. I hated it when I was Airfield Ops O at Yuma and the AF would come to town. They would drive to El Centro to sleep in a motel rather than bunk in the base BOQ. PF

That's the refueling basket, probably from a KC-130. You can see his refueling probe hooked to the basket. Something broke and he'll have to land with that thing. There's a small fitting in the basket that the probe fits into and it grips the probe. It's purpose its to keep one plugged in as the receiver moves in and out. If he tries to retract the probe, he's liable to break something else. When you are ready to disengage, you back off and when you reach the length that the tanker sets, the probe pops out of the basket and away you go.

Kris Mayes came waltzing in with the 2022 election along with Katie Hobbs. AZ is now deep purple and so close to blue. Mayes and Hobbs are stepchildren of Biden and side with every UNConstitutional issue he dreams up along with Mark Kelly who can't remember all the times in his life he has sworn to uphold the Constitution. The legislature has a slim Republican majority but Katie vetoes everything they send her. AZ used to be a great state, but way too many kalifornicators and damnyankees have drifted into here. There's also some high tech thing in Phoenix that draws the younger stupidos. PF
