I registered right at the opening time, took about 5 minutes to get through the whole process. It was a pleasant surprise when I saw that a lot of my information regarding address, phone number and such were stored and "automagically" appeared saving a lot of time. I don't know the people responsible for setting up the online registration process but I'd like to publicly thank them for all the behind the scenes work that went into that process. It's as smooth as I've seen. Looking forward to seeing everyone at Land Run in October. Kajun

I saw a video, real or not, with a regular white guy dressed as a native American. He was talking to someone and the other person said this was all stolen land. The guy explained that he is transindigenous and he was here to reclaim his home.

Cowboy is a niche game. It was created by and has remained inhabited by a certain demographic; a demographic raised up on and inspired by Cowboy ethos and mythology. The pillars of their childhood memories. As this group has aged - the game evolved to allow those shooters to continue. The "youth" wants to play gun games that closer reflect the video games they grew up on (their childhood memories) - meaning Glocks, AR's, etc. They (for the majority) would not be interested in cowboy regardless of the challenge presented or promotion thereof. So anyone can claim some wholesale change of philosophy will bring back shooters - but SASS clubs that fail to recognize who actually pay the bills will die off even quicker than we are currently. As for "favor the elderly" - find me a SINGLE component of our game that "favors" the elderly over a younger, faster shooter with better reflexes. Sounds more like someone who wants challenges implemented or activities included that "favor" the young.

Howdy! Life and an MBA have brought the Vaders to Ithaca, New York. Ironically, Cornell University does NOT have a marksmanship program so, I am building the team from the ground up, with a focus on the shotgun sports. But tonight I decided to do something nice for the little lady, while she's at work, and I baked her favorite ginger snap cookies and a couple of loaves of home made bread, using that new KitchenAid mixer she bought me. I ain't never laid claim to being no baker, but these don't look half bad and taste downright heavenly. This is the one day I am at home while she is at work, so when she comes home in the morning, she can have a cookie or two and some fresh bread slathered with butter, (NO margarine in THIS house!), before she climbs into bed next to my fat snoring self. I don't care if ain't manly in some folks eyes, 'cause I love my wife and I love making her happy. Not to mention, she DID buy me the mixer, which I have wanted for 20 years...

Just laying here is giving me too much time to think. When the doc talked with my wife and daughter he chose his words very carefully. He was tired after a long day of surgeries. I was his last patient and he was not at a hundred percent and evidently tried to hurry and got careless. He said he knicked the dural sac and had to do an emergency repair. I think he is worried about his liability. I went from 2 to 6 week recovery to around 15 weeks. What really irritates me is I am pain free and should be walking around, not laying flat on my back for 2 weeks. Just hope he fixed the tear completely or I will be in danger from some serious issues resulting from the leak. I am not sue happy but guess depending on how I heal will have to check all options. He shouldn't have put himself into a situation that needed his full attention when dealing with someone's spine. He was also in a hurry since he still needed to make his rounds at the hospital. Needless to say he and his staff seem to be walking on egg shells right now around me. TM

A big thank you to our shooters. We had over 500 register in the first 18 hours. We have room for a couple hundred more, which we should get in the weeks ahead. We also have 80+ signed up for Wild Bunch, so we still have room for more there also. She wanted something easy for dinner - I used some of that homemade bread, fresh sliced tomato, thick cut crispy bacon, thinner sliced ham, pepperjack cheese and Colby Jack cheese along with good butter to make her a fun "grilled cheese" sandwich. These are Service Adventure( South American) primers. Not Norma. Bought a bunch 2 years ago and will not use them in SASS weapons. Bought for use in 9's and 40's to save on supply of good primers. I stopped at the store on my way home from work today. I caught a glimpse of a lady IN HER 50's wearing fleece hooded PJs and fuzzy slippers in Publix. NO KIDDING!!! The hood had cat ears or some such on it. She seriously looked like she was 50ish going on 12. If I could have taken the picture without her seeing me, I would have. It was one of the most pathetic things I have ever seen an adult do.

I was out getting the mail one day. The lady from across the street - a transplant from Boston - asked me if she should be doing something special because of the hurricane. What she should do to get ready. I replied that I had not heard there was a hurricane coming. How big? She told me it was a category 3. I told her not to worry about it. I bring the garbage can inside when it's a cat 4. Make sure the truck is full of gas. But a 3??? Northerners. Remember how that cat 2 shut down the state of New York? The Storm of the Century!!!

I listened to one of her songs, about 45 seconds or so, and that was enough. I have the same message for any "entertainer" who lectures me; You. Sing, dance, act, juggle, do what I am paying you to do, which is to entertain me. Nothing else. Do not presume to lecture me on anything - we SEE your life on the news, and we know we don't want to be anything like the real you. So do what I pay you to do, entertain me. Or go away.
