I shoot them for fun and it ends up being both to at least some degree.8 points

I noticed my glasses were a bit loose this morning so I got the mini screwdriver set out of the junk drawer to adjust them. Then I realized I needed a second pair of glasses to see what I was doing. Got the magnifying glass out which didn’t work because I needed 3 hands. I have a free standing magnifier but it’s down in the man cave and I’d have to get dressed, or at least put on my boots. So I went rummaging around to see if I could find an old pair of glasses. Didn’t find them but I did find a box of 9mm I had misplaced. Then I remembered I hadn’t made coffee. So I did that and by then I had forgotten about my glasses. Also forgot here I had put them. I’ll wait till Carol gets up. She can find anything. sigh...7 points

No. Never waive your right to remain silent. Never speak to the police without having an attorney representing you. Just don't do it. Also Never consent to a search and never let the police in your home without a warrant. If they want to speak with you, step outside and lock the door behind you and then listen, but don't talk. If you follow this advice, it will make things more difficult on the front end, but you will save yourself from a lot of trouble down the road.7 points

My wife and I are moving to be closer to family. I have given up my license while in the moving process and will get another once we are settled. I am selling off many of my personal guns. I should be up and running by the first of the year. Thank you, Johnny Meadows6 points

For me, it's about shooting with a great bunch of guys. I'm not a socialite. Actually I'm a man of few words in a crowd. But there are a lot of like minded guys and gals who assemble every month (x4) to have a good time. From observation of those I shoot with, competition appears to be with yourself and the writing of the unique stages (the more creative the better). This is evident when a clean match goes south or someone has a train wreck and all of a sudden things become more like a county fair shooting gallery. No one gets upset about it, no one argues about calling a "P". For me, the final score standings are just a way to gauge how I did relative to the complexity of the stages/match. A 34 second stage may be the best score overall. No one I shoot with has ever complained about how a stage was written because they couldn't do a ten round dump across all stages. When this happens, you'll see my back side heading for the truck. I'm in final stage renal failure and am living on borrowed time attached to "Dracula", my blood sucking kidney machine. For me, shooting with you guys gives me a reason to get up at 5:00am to head to the range where all my daily issues disappear for at least a few hours. My Pard "Let's Go" helps me on and off the range to insure this can happen. He's like the brother I never had, but then he is from the "Legion of Brothers" after all... Competition is practice, so are we not doing both?5 points

When Rye walked into the Saloon and scanned the room I saw his eyes settle in my direction and I saw a pain in his face that was evident. He walked over to the table and took the bottle and moved it out of the way. "I got word from Stone Creek." He said with more effort than it should take, before handing me the telegram. I read it and reread it several times, my own anger welling up. "Sheriff, I am at your service. Whatever you wish for me to do, I will execute your instructions to the best of my ability." He nodded "I figured-do what you did to Johan." I nodded, "We need to talk in private." A few minutes later, we were in his office "Rye, I didn't do anything to Johan, but I would have gotten around to it if I hadn't been beaten to the punch." He looked at me "So then, who did?" I shook my head "It doesn't matter and it isn't my place to say . . . call it attorney client privilege. But the fact remains Zeb Gardner is convinced of it and that works to our advantage." Rye nodded "He wants to kill you, and you are volunteering to be bait." I smiled "Exactly. Why don't you lock me up for the torture and murder of Johan and lets get a trial on the schedule." Rye looked at me "You sure?" I nodded-"What's the worst that could happen?" He shrugged "You could get lynched" I looked at him "Yeah, but I know you won't let that happen." He extended a hand and proclaimed solemnly "No, I will not."4 points

Pastor Keller sent a telegram to Rye in Tucson alerting him to a group of 3 riders, one a female heading his way to Tucson. He also informed him that Calico was killed in a gunfight with these three. Rye stopped and set the telegram down and wiped his eyes. Calico gone? He couldn't beleive it. She was a favorite of Rye's, they needled each other about everything but all in good fun. Rye was fuming about this and wanted to kill all three of these varmints on sight but the telegram said Wanted Alive if at all possible! Rye understood the reasoning behind this but still the rage inside of him was hard to keep down. He went back to his office and told his deputy, Cole Alan, about this. Cole was good with a gun and also a great tracker from his beaver hunting days. Cole was getting up there in years but he still could handle himself and his tracking skills were still sharp.4 points

I shoot Remington Gun Clubs with black powder at local matches. They don't buckle during reloading. I get enough once-fired Gun Club hulls at clays ranges for free. I use STS hulls for major matches when I really want to ensure my shells shuck perfectly. I no longer reload AAs for CAS. I give my once-fired AAs to a family who likes them.4 points

SEC. 5. NEW TERMINOLOGY FOR THOSE WITH MENTAL ILLNESS. Section 922 of title 18, United States Code, is amended in each of subsections (d)(4) and (g)(4) by striking “adjudicated as a mental defective” and inserting “adjudicated with mental illness, severe developmental disability, or severe emotional instability”. Now you may think the change is in the form of political correctness in the terminology, but it is most definitely not! Under the new definition, everyone receiving disability benefits for mental health would be instantly barred from legal gun purchase, and the very broad definition change would make it very easy to deny people rights. Understand that when it changes in this statute, the definition can be carried over to future legislation without specifically being included. Mental defective is a very narrow term mentally defective adjective Referring to a person who has been determined by a court, board, commissioner other lawful authority—as a result of marked subnormal intelligence, or mental illness, incompetency, condition or disease—as one who: (1) Is a danger to him- or herself, or to others; or (2) Lacks the mental capacity to contract or manage his or her own affairs. noun (1) A finding of insanity by a court in a criminal case; (2) A person found to be incompetent to stand trial, or found not guilty, by reason of lack of mental responsibility pursuant to articles 50a and 72b of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. 850a, 876b. Fun, more than anything. I only get to shoot maybe a total of 8 to 10 times in a good year so practicing for a competition seems pointless. My little brother and I are competitive against each other mostly and when my cousin issues a challange there is that, but it's still all in good fun. Fun is where is starts and stays. When it is no longer fun I'll find something else to do.4 points

For me every match from a monthly up to regionals is the same. A miss at one is no more important than a miss at the other. I go to have fun. It's all practice and competition. This is just a fun hobby I don't take it too seriously4 points

Sure and it’s a violent lot y’ are. I’d like to see 500 MPs armed with badminton racquets counting coup on the loonies. I wonder how many of the aforementioned loonies are regular Syfy conventioneers? I’m hoping for some great costumes.4 points

There's a lot of citizens in this country. But when they commit a crime, should their being citizens prevent them from paying for the crime? If a citizen kicks in my front door in the middle of the night, I'm going to blow him back out into the front yard. If a citizen steps out of an alley with a knife and says give me your wallet, I feel that he needs to have two or three holes put in him quickly. If a bunch of citizens cut through the fence at the SAC base, and head over toward the BUFFs, the guards are supposed to shoot them dead. Back during the Cold War, if a bunch of citizens had broken into an ICBM site, the guards were supposed to shoot them dead. So if these citizens break into a restricted government base that has "LETHAL FORCE AUTHORIZED", the guards are supposed to shoot them dead. If you do not wish to get shot by a military guard, it might be a wise idea to not attempt to break into a military reservation.4 points

I tend to not post my bad news and complaints here, but I've had my share this summer. But I finally have some good news. I've been back into Kenpo for some time now, and I have been sparring successfully at with other black belts and a very accomplished 3rd Degree Brown Belt (As in has one grand championship at a well respected, well attended tournament, beating out noted black belts). I've demonstrated my ability to perform the necessary kicks, punches, blocks, checks and parries. I've written a thesis. Today I performed two empty hand katas and two weapon katas (Spear and sword). I demonstrated a kata I had created myself, then demonstrated the techniques within the kata, before performing it again. The net result: Shodan, or First Degree Black Belt.3 points

Nine riders left the home that Calico Mary's had shared with her brother, along with their friend White Eagle. When Sheriff Cody had asked the two young men to join the posse, to bring Mary's murderers to justice, both agreed without hesitation. Both also agreed when Cody explained they weren't out as vigilantes, but to bring them back to trial, if possible. White Eagle, who was a skilled tracker in his own right, had agreed with Michigan Slim's assessment, that there had been three riders, one a female, and that all three had taken part in firing at the house. He went further to say he had seen small boot prints near where the barn had been lit on fire, and walked Slim and others to show them. To his eye, the female had lit the barn on fire. Slim concurred. Getting enough food to tide them over, the nine began following the trail. Slim and White Eagle at the front. Often times it seemed the three had taken little effort to hide their trail. Other times they had worked so it disappeared almost entirely. The posse was dogged in their determination. This was to be the end of a long, dark chapter in the history of a good town. Not one man in the group wanted to return having failed in that goal.3 points

I agree with the using of NON-Lethal weapons. BUT, if a large group is traveling from California, maybe other Lethal methods should be considered..... ..........Widder3 points

I suspect that the security there will use some of the latest in non-lethal methods first to prevent a PR disaster. The jokers that will be the problem are the one's that attempt to use this event as a diversion so that they can sneek in via another route. Those should be shot and left for buzzard food. Marines Test Latest Non-Lethal Weapon It claims no injuries but there will be plenty as the people in front trample those behind them as they attempt flee from the effects. I also liked the Claymores and Hand Grenades that are filled with rubber balls instead of steel.3 points

Nobody pays attention to those signs, Pat. Many years ago I had the whole plant shut down. I had an area a hundred yards square roped off, with signs every 20 ft. I had just cranked the shot out when some moron ducked under the rope and started off across the open area. I bellowed in my best parade ground voice, "HEY YOU STUPID M_____ F_____ GET YOUR G___D___ A__ BACK ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROPES!!" He went back outside the ropes, and the head of QA, who was standing next to me, said, "That was the president of the company". I said that I would have thought the president of the company knew how to read English.3 points

The rumor mill has whatever secret crap was going on moved some time ago to a new base,Utah???? Anyway my big concern is the environmental damage. Shots fired over 5,000,XXX and the crap running on the ground will do some serious damage. Local clothing stores will have big run on underwear!3 points

I made the mistake of proudly telling everyone in boot camp that I knew how to use one of these...I worked as a janitor a few months before I joined the Navy. You can guess what happened next... I forgot the number one rule . “Never volunteer for anything!”2 points

I think California did that too. Makes it a lot easier to steal your car when you lose your keys. “Oh yeah. There it is. WTF972. Let’s take it for a spin, Stinky”2 points

I think wiki is confused. The 1866 - the IMPROVED HENRY - was chambered in 44 Henry flat rimfire. Near the end of its production run they made some in centerfire, but it was not 44/40. It was 44 Henry flat central fire. The 1866 Winchester is not large enough to take the 44/40 cartridge.2 points
