I like how the article mentions the brand of handgun this guy was carrying. A Hi-Point. One could say that the Hi Point was part of his low point in life...or maybe the Hi Point took out his low point...either way, he’s still an idiot...without his low point, if ya get my drift.5 points

Now wait. Letes and Lerts are COMPLETELY different species. You gotta be careful. See the sign?? Says "Keep a lert" .... OK, now that you've got a lert, what ya gonna feed the thing. Then they want ya to "be a lert" How, zactly, you gonna do that?? I've never seen a lert. I have now clue about letes. This considering makes my head hurt.4 points

Well Mrs Wonder decided to get herself something different for an edc. I took her to the toy store yesterday and she picked out the new Mossberg MC1. We went and shot it yesterday and I have to say I kinda like it. It shoots really good for a small frame pistol. It is very similar in size to the glock 43 but more ergonomic in my opinion. It has a surprisingly good trigger pull, WAY better than the glock 43. Here is a pic i found on the internet that gives comparison to the glock 433 points

I decided to treat us to a new grill. New home - new grill. We we’re at Costco and they were having a “Traeger Road Show”. I bought a Traeger Junior Elite 20 with the new control box with temp probe for $359.00 a couple of weeks ago. We assembled it yesterday and this morning I did the initial fire up and seasoning. Later today I am going to smoke 2 whole chickens using the Traeger chicken seasoning and the instructions given by the salesman and confirmed in the recipe book. Man, I am looking forward to using this baby. There are some great recipes in their cookbook. They even have baking recipes. I have had salmon and steelhead from a Traeger. That was fantastic. Since I quit eating fish (gout ) I will be sticking to smoked / grilled meats. Chicken, pork and beef. Do any of you have a smoker grill? What’s your favorite recipes? Pat (what’s trolling for ideas) Riot3 points

Btw, how many of you know that when this class was originally brought up it was a MIGHT different. The original intent was, 7 items, 38-40 and larger, black powder ONLY, and (get ready) only ONE handgun. That was actually partially Hipshots idea, as it would have evened out shooting 1 handed large cal, and it would have been great to see a Classic Cowboy in the top ten shoot off. That was in '02 or '03. The TGs gutted it. Oh well.....3 points

A steam iron WILL, in fact, do a grilled cheese sandwich!! Assemble your sandwich. Place it on a brown paper bag on a counter top with a pat of butter under the sandwich. Place another paper bag on top with another pat of butter between the bag and the sandwich and set the iron for maximum heat with steam. Iron your sandwich gently, turning the whole thing occasionally until the butter and the cheese melt and the bread begins to brown. Remove the top bag, turn off the steam, and continue to brown the bread until it reaches a satisfactory color. Turn the sandwich and repeat for the other side! To clean up, wet a towel and steam iron it until it is dry on full high steam setting. Note: For best results, use only one layer of paper bag for each side of the sandwich. Baking parchment can be substituted for paper bag.3 points

SASS picked up a new shooter yesterday. Shootin Sharyn and I were joined by the Iron Cowboy (he’s not new he started shooting SASS 5 years ago) and Kid Flash who is 9. He struggled a bit with the rifle, it’s heavy for him, and left eye dominance will need to be addressed, but he made it all the way through and had a blast. Now if we can just get Lethal Lizzie over her shyness and on the range we’ll be a five shooter family. Kid, Cowboy, and Sharyn all won their categories. Dad limped across the finish line in third place.2 points

I’m going to look at the other side of that coin. Instead of a myth I’ll give you a cliche’ I believe to be the truth. “If you’re not using the whole target you’re going too slow.”2 points

I used to shoot clean matches nearly every match as a duelist but have only done it three times in four years as a gunfighter. The left hand doesn’t like clean.2 points

Blowtube between shots. The moisture in your breath will keep the fouling soft. Enjoy!2 points

Many of the off line scenarios, described here, (between the LT and the ULT etc.) in my view, should be covered by the range's rules. Here in Canada, they are normally quite strict, due to our government's stance on all private firearm ownership. Most ranges here are one step away from a shut-down for cause, making range operators pretty anal about all gun handling.2 points

Today was proof you can shoot lousy and still have loads of fun. Great bunch of cowboys/cowgirls here. I would venture to say that we at Tusco are some of the best fed because of our very own Chuckwagon Pam. She does an outstanding job providing a great inexpensive breakfast and lunch to a bunch of miscreants, misfits and ner-do-wells. Thanks Pam and the entire Tusco crew.2 points

This is not a safety violation per the rules. But it is poor gun handling technique. So, it's up to the posse marshal or match director to decide how to handle this. Let's say it's unintentional (apparently) with a shooter who is occasionally careless, and guns are unloaded. As posse marshal I would give a warning first time, a "last chance warning" the next time, and take the offense to the match director the third time for his consent to issue a MDQ for unsafe gun handling. Someone intentionally waving unloaded guns around without showing any concern or remorse, I'd be recommending the MDQ on first offense.. A dropped unloaded revolver sweeps across a posse member as it falls. IF NEEDED, just a warning. I've seen more than 20 gun carts tipped over and guns thrown in all directions at major matches, and the main thing that is said is "Can I help you with your cart?" "Let's get these guns picked up and checked for dirt in action or barrel." What makes those situations different? How serious is the problem, and can the shooter comprehend, then carry out, the proper gun handling if I turn my back on him/her for 5 minutes. We don't have a specific rule for "sweeping someone away from the firing line", and that is normally a good thing. As per Snakebite's comments, a rule for every situation that we would like to prevent would make the rule book impossible to carry around. We've got most high-risk situations covered, and we've got posse marshals and match directors to handle the rest with a reasonable and safety minded call. Good luck, GJ2 points

I thought about doing that and then telling Memphis he shot it clean and fast, but that would just confuse him and everyone else!2 points

I couldn’t care less. If somebody is wiling to pay you millions for whatever you do, it’s not my business. I’m neither disgusted nor angry. I’m much more angry at Big Pharma for what they do to all of us. And some politicians. And a few other people.2 points

Of course they can't. But I am not in the business of paying more for something else either. And I am not haggling over $20, I am talking about over $100 in my last purchase. And then the Texas sales taxes here at 8.25%--where I already pay $10K in taxes alone for schools that I don't have kids to go to. That is the cost of some peoples mortgages alone. Do you want to make sure I pay "my fair share?" I don't expect to be lambasted over how I spend my money, or where, thank you very much.2 points

Get an attorney. Seems like the dealership should have caught those modifications, disclosed them to you, and told you that they voided all warranties.2 points
